'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Galbraith renews clash with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith breaks into a smile as he remembers the thrilling dying seconds of his team's remarkable turnaround win against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. That match culminated with Galbraith picking up a spectator's eyewear following the on-field celebration.

With the clock ticking into the 97th minute, Galbraith struck the post with a powerful shot from 25 yards, and the defender immediately slammed home the rebound before sprinting toward the home end to celebrate, with supporters mobbing the players.

Stunning Reversal

The victory completed an incredible recovery given the team had found themselves down 2-0 deep into the final 45 minutes. Amid the euphoria, there was some minor mishaps. He shared, "There was a supporter trying to get our attention and myself and Keysy [Josh Key] were thinking: 'What's he on about here?' Then we spotted the glasses. It was a bit of banter putting them on. We are on the pitch as players but we're individuals, too, so to have a laugh with the fans is always good."

Premier League Giants

The result earned a upcoming fixture at home against Manchester City on Wednesday, opponents Galbraith ran close at the same stage of the FA Cup with the London side in February. The athletic midfielder had an excellent perspective when Orient took the lead in spectacular fashion, with a teammate's first-time shot from about 45 yards going in via the crossbar and the City goalkeeper. It seems unfair that it was deemed an own goal.

"You would have wished they would've given it to him for attempting the shot from that far out," commented Galbraith, who began the game centrally before switching to right wing-back after Orient changed formation. That meant getting to grips with City's winger, with whom he traded tops, and the attacker was among the Manchester squad who praised the way the underdogs attacked the game.

Opponent's Class

"Physically they are outstanding but even the simple things and routine actions, they can just execute repeatedly," he explains. "It appears that they complete every delivery and they are adept at manage and neutralize a game. You can think you're holding your own and then suddenly they will just fizz a pass through a line without you even spotting it. You have to be switched on at all times of the game. It requires a strong mentality and attention just to remain competitive."

Swansea Move

The club were keen on Galbraith in January and fought off rivals to secure him in the summer in a seven-figure transfer. He became a favorite as a crowd pleaser across a couple of years at Leyton Orient and has swiftly achieved similar status in his new home. At his previous team he joined forces once more with Richie Wellens, who previously gave Galbraith his initial sustained opportunity in senior football on loan at Doncaster from Manchester United. Then came a loan at lower division Salford City, before he departed Old Trafford.

Growth Journey

"I was probably a slightly green going into senior level. I think many athletes would say development squad matches is entirely separate. Sometimes it feels like the ball is moved without much intensity. There's not many hard challenges. Once you start playing men's games you have to adjust fast."

International Recognition

He has shown that development for both domestically and internationally, shining for his national side, who remain in contention for the global tournament next summer via the qualifying rounds and for whom he has featured in the past five games, including home and away fixtures against the German national team. The ex-coach, Galbraith's previous international manager, paid him the supreme accolade, saying he was Northern Ireland's "creative maestro" given how he controls possession and his eye for a killer pass.

Starting Out

It has been quite the ride for the youngster from the neighborhood in the Belfast suburb, just outside the capital, who used to see his parent, the elder Galbraith, also a engine room operator, play for his father's team.

Manchester United Experience

The player's single match for the Red Devils came in Kazakhstan in 2019, a European competition trip to the host city, where they featured on an synthetic surface and the venue ceiling was shut owing to conditions of bitter cold. "This represented a extended travel and it was freezing," he recalls, smiling. "The days leading up, the academy prospects practiced as a group, so that helped us acclimatise. Just to accompany the senior squad and earn some playing time at the end was unbelievable."

Leaving United

How difficult was it to move on from Old Trafford, the club he transferred from aged a teenager? "This turned out fairly simple, because I arrived at the moment where I understood I couldn't establish myself at the senior squad. I'm very appreciative for the experience gained but it became apparent where I thought I required a fresh start, move to a lower level and play professional soccer. Now I'm steadily progressing again."

Life in Swansea

This occurs during the early part of the afternoon at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has a commitment at 5pm: a driving theory test, another step towards getting on the road. Until recently to Sketty, the mid-twenties player was a frequent passenger in Swansea's nicknamed team minibus, a team vehicle driven by team personnel, the drivers, which transports players to and from training and matches.

"It's myself the Portuguese player, another squad member, an Ivorian player – the Swedish defender used to be in it but has started driving. It's enjoyable to socialize with the guys but I'm aiming to be the following person out of the minibus and on the road. His teammate enjoys practical jokes; he's constantly causing mischief."

Public Engagement

When he represented his former club, Galbraith would mix with supporters on the Tube after beginning his trip at the area he lived in. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
